Have you looked around your house lately and saw an appliance that just made you wonder… who thought this thing up and how come I can’t live without it? I’m thinking about our TVs, microwaves, vacuums, electric handmixers, convertible heat pumps and more. These are the sort of things that the first few people who saw it probably scoffed at it but now it is the sort of thing most of America can’t imagine living without. Someone, most likely a snazzy door-to-door salesman, had to take time and effort, information and conviction to make those first few people realize the value of what they were being offered.
Consider our upcoming Church Planting Interest Meeting that snazzy door-to-door salesman. And consider our upcoming Church Plant the odd-looking, yet intrinsically intriguing appliance he is talking to you about.
Let us be upfront, an interest meeting is meant to do two things: first, it means to inform an interested audience on an opportunity available to them. Second, it means to call that interested audience to action regarding that opportunity. In GPBC’s case, our upcoming Church Plant Interest Meeting will provide you and your family with more information on the opportunity to make and mature disciples in Lake Hopatcong and, Lord willing, it will also call you and your family to take advantage of that opportunity by committing to being a part of the core launch team.
So here are the things you can expect out of the upcoming interest meeting:
- Information on what a church plant is, why Lake Hopatcong needs one, and how GPBC is hoping to meet the need.
- An honest perspective on the expectations, challenges, and benefits of being a part of the church plant effort.
- Specific ways you, your family, and those you know outside of GPBC congregation can commit to the church plant core team and stay informed on the plant.
- A time for prayer and a time for Q&A.
Whether you know you are going to be part of the church plant no matter what, or you are on the fence 50/50, or you know you will only commit in prayer and/or giving, the interest meeting is for you. So, on behalf of the elders of Green Pond Bible Chapel, I personally invite you to attend our Church Plant Interest Meeting on July 13th, 2025 and see what opportunity God is putting before you and your family in serving the Lake Hopatcong area with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Romans 10:14-15 – How, then, can they call on him they have not believed in? And how can they believe without hearing about him? And how can they hear without a preacher? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news.
